ENERGY STAR version 3 rater class

As the ENERGY STAR for Homes program has undergone significant changes in 2011, the EPA has developed this training class to update the Rater. In conjunction with RESNET, this training will be provided by accredited Training Providers who have successfully taken the EPA's Train-the-Trainer Program.

This class teaches the concepts and program requirements necessary for a Rater to successfully perform the inspections and discuss with their builder's the guidelines of the ENERGY STAR for Homes Version 3 guidelines.

Builders who are participating in the ENERGY STAR for Homes Program or looking to join the program are also invited to take this class.

This class is Required for All Raters and RFIs to perform ENERGY STAR for Homes ratings after January 1st, 2012. It is highly suggested that the Rater take the class as soon as possible to become familiar with the new program requirements.

Class instruction includes how to evaluate and qualify homes under the version 3 program requirements, including the ENERGY STAR reference design home, benchmark/size adjustment, and the requirements for completing the new required inspection checklists.

This is a 2 day training program, with an exam on the last day.

Class fees, included materials and requirements

Class Fee: $375.00 (Offsite classes will have a different fee, contact us for more info)

Course Material Included:

• Course Material on DVD (will receive on first day of class)
• Course Exam
• Refreshments
• Certificate of Completion upon successful completion of class and exam

Items required for Class:

• Laptop, the course material will be provided on DVD and the exam at the end of class will be an online exam.
• Your favorite writing instrument(pen, pencil, etc.) along with your favorite type of notepad/notebook to take notes

Maximum number of students for the training class is 12 (at our site).

Class Starts at 8:30am each day. This is a 2-day class.
